2023: Wike reveals those in Aso Rock backing Atiku

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State recently spoke at the Rivers State PDP Campaign Flag-off Rally for Okrika Local Government Area (LGA).

During his speech, the governor made a bold claim that recent events have vindicated his previous statement about Atiku Abubakar and the PDP’s assurance of victory from a “cabal in the presidency.”

In his initial statement, Wike had expressed his concern that Atiku and his supporters were boasting that they did not need the support of the G5 governors to win the 2023 election, as they had already been assured of victory by a powerful group within the presidency.

However, recent events have proved Wike’s original assertion to be true.

During his speech at the rally, Wike emphasized that the 2023 election will not be won based on the assurance from the cabal, but rather on the people’s assurance.

He stated that, “I said they have been given assurance, but this election is not going to be based on that cabal assurance. It is on the people’s assurance.”

Despite this, Governor Wike maintained that Atiku will still need the support of Rivers State in order to secure a victory in the 2023 election.

He declared,

“Whether you like it or not, you must need Rivers State. If you don’t need Rivers State you must fail. If you say you don’t want us, you’ll fail. There are no two ways about it.”
