Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to leave AC Milan

AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly set to leave the club this summer, as the team is not looking to renew his contract. However, the 41-year-old striker may still remain in the Serie A with another team.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan in 2019, scoring 37 goals in 78 appearances during his second spell with the club, including helping them win the Scudetto last season. The Swedish star previously won the Serie A title during his first spell with Milan and three league titles with rivals Inter Milan.

However, Ibrahimovic has struggled with injuries this season, featuring in only four games in all competitions. As a result, Milan appears set to release him when his contract expires at the end of the season.

French outlet Foot Mercato reports that Serie A club Monza is monitoring the situation and would be interested in acquiring Ibrahimovic ahead of the 2023/24 season if he decides to continue playing.

If Zlatan Ibrahimovic does retire, it would mark the end of a storied career, during which he played for some of the biggest teams in world football. He has been prolific in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, and England, winning silverware wherever he has played.

The striker starred for Inter Milan before securing a move to Barcelona, then dominated at Paris Saint-Germain. He moved to Manchester United, where he won the Europa League and EFL Cup before venturing to the MLS with LA Galaxy. He returned to Europe with AC Milan and will undoubtedly go down as one of the best strikers of his era.
