It's great for the Serie A -- Inzaghi on Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku is set for a loan move to AS Roma for a fee higher than €5m as the Belgian is set to put his Inter Milan days past him.

There are no mandatory clauses installed in the contract, with the Chelsea striker set to return in June 2024 after the season expires.

The loan move was activated following calls between the AS Roman manager, Jose Mourinho and the Belgian for personal terms to be greenlit ahead of the move to Rome.

The Serie A club is set to cover the former Manchester United player’s wages in excess of €7.5m for 10 months.

Reacting to the move, former manager, Simeone Inzaghi of Inter Milan spoke of how Romelu Lukaku will prove a good signing for their rivals, AS Roma.

However, the Nerazzurri boss expressed confidence in his own players despite the move of Lukaku to Roma.

Prior to the Belgian’s move being confirmed, Inter Milan held interests in signing Romelu Lukaku before negotiations broke off, with Juventus stepping into the table to nab the Chelsea player in a swap deal.

“Lukaku, very good signing and it’s good news for AS Roma and Italian football. It’s excellent news for Serie A to have top players like Lukaku.

“I’m very happy with my own players, I’m so happy with them,” Inzaghi told DAZN.
