Barcelona Manager, Xavi On Players He Eyes For His Team

It seems like a positivity from a negativity when Barcelona’s game against Osasuna on Tuesday night in the La Liga is brought up for conversation as a Xavi Barcelona side found themselves leapfrog Real Madrid to the top of the table despite the odds being against them.

That is how this season has been for a Barcelona side that have been thrown around the deep ends by so many challenges this season, stemming from injuries, wrong VAR decisions and a ghost from the past in the form of Bayern Munich.

After his side overcame Osasuna on Tuesday night by a score of 2-1, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez expressed his pride in his squad.

With the victory, the Catalans have now separated themselves from rival Real Madrid by five points.

David Garcia scored the game’s first goal for the hosts before Robert Lewandowski was dismissed for receiving two cautions.

Before Raphinha’s looping header gave Barca the victory, Pedri had leveled the score for the guests.

“I am really proud of the team, of the family that we are inside the dressing room,” Xavi said.

“Everything was against us today: the refereeing decisions, the goal, going down to 10.

“We were intelligent. We took our moments well and were clinical with the chances we had. We were solid in the second half, worked hard and we will be leaders during the World Cup break. It’s a team win today. I am very proud.”
