Co-Chairperson of the National Consultative Front (NCF), Professor Patrick Utomi, has revealed plans by the body to empower intrigued Nigerians with the required skills and financial assistance to become independent.

Utomi, Professor of Political Economy, on Wednesday, disclosed this in a presentation made accessible to Top Naija in Abuja.

Utomi stated, “First, I want to announce that the NCF is concluding arrangements with a leading financial institution to register all who are interested in becoming instruments for change and national renewal through the NCF, on a portal that will offer benefits to members including debit and credit cards and access to developmental financial assistance and services.

“Those who are registered members will also have the benefit of skills and entrepreneurship training supported by our partners.

“Secondly, as some political parties are validating and revalidating membership that is essentially disconnected, we are pleased to show the way in Nigeria with the launch, at the end of March, of a portal that is more interactive than Facebook through which we can ensure citizen power, participation and merchandising opportunities.

“It will enable members to interact on issues, local and national problems, and suggests policy options. This will happen from the level of cells, from which delegates can carry the mandates of their cells to the next level of thought aggregation at the Local Government Areas and further up.”

Patrick Okedinachi Utomi was born February 6, 1956 in Kaduna. He is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He attended Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, USA, where he got his Ph.D. MPA, MA.

He is a Nigerian Professor of Political Economy and Management expert, also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria and a former presidential candidate. He is the founder of Centre for Value in Leadership (CVL) and the African Democratic Congress.

Utomi is a professor at Lagos Business School, and has served in senior positions in government, as an adviser to the president of Nigeria, the private sector, as Chief Operating Officer of Volkswagen Nigeria.

He was nominated and voted by the Public as one of Nigeria’s top ten Living Legends in the Vanguard/Silverbird Television Awards.

Utomi is happily married to Ifeoma Utomi.
