Todd Boehly continues to divide Chelsea with latest antic

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has come under fire from fans after his attempts to reassure them about the club’s current struggles completely backfired.

The American, who heads the consortium that bought Chelsea from Roman Abramovich nearly a year ago, has presided over three manager changes in that time, with Frank Lampard currently at the helm.

However, the team has lost all six games under Lampard’s charge, leading to speculation that he may resign and fears that the team could be dragged into a relegation battle. Despite spending a significant amount of money on transfers in the past year, Boehly is now tasked with getting the club out of its current predicament.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Todd Boehly attempted to reassure fans, saying that the club was committed to the long-term and that they would “figure it out”.

However, this statement did not go down well with fans, who accused Todd Boehly of not understanding football and treating Chelsea like a toy.

One fan asked, “Does he know Chelsea can be relegated if they lose all the remaining matches?” while another said, “He knows nothing about football, he’s just a businessman who puts money in a club to have fun… But this club is Chelsea, which is not a toy!”

Other fans were similarly critical, with one sarcastically commenting, “‘We’ll figure it out,’ I’ve never been so reassured.” Another fan pointed out that despite Boehly’s statement that the club was committed to the long-term, they had already sacked a manager a few months after appointing him, suggesting that they were only interested in short-term success.

Despite Boehly’s attempts to reassure fans, it is clear that many Chelsea supporters are unhappy with the team’s current form and are calling for changes to be made.

Whether Boehly and the consortium can turn things around remains to be seen, but it is clear that they will need to work hard to win over fans who are feeling disillusioned and frustrated with the current situation.
