Mikel Arteta has identified Brighton as the team that would seriously contend with Arsenal for the title.

The Gunners increased their advantage above Manchester City to seven points on Boxing Day after defeating West Ham United.

The high-flying Brighton team, who have disrespected major opponents this season, will be their next opponent.

Many people think that because Arsenal was in first place at Christmas, the title is now theirs to lose. However, Arteta removed his team from title speculation.

“There is a lot of belief but there is a lot of humbleness as well,” Arteta told talkSPORT.

“Brighton’s going to be a very difficult test, the way they are playing they’re going to make it really hard for us and we’re going to start preparing for that tomorrow,” he said.
