That Disrespect, Neymar Slammed Over Cheeky Penalty

Brazil vs. South Korea was every bit of the samba flare as the Selecao ran out 4-1 winners, but one moment in the game is being talked about which was Neymar and his penalty style against the Asian team.

Former Premier League striker Dean Ashton claimed that Neymar’s cheeky penalty in Brazil’s 4-1 victory against South Korea on Monday “disrespected” South Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu.

Brazil defeated the Taegeuk Warriors 4-1 on Monday at Stadium 974 in the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Richarlison of Tottenham, Neymar of PSG, Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid, and Lucas Paqueta of Tottenham all scored goals for the Canaries.

After Richarlison was found to have been fouled within the box, Neymar converted the penalty. Neymar took a few steps up, hopped, and slammed a stylish finish into the bottom right corner.

Neymar astounded Ashton, who called it a “disrespect” to Seung-gyu.

“The absolute disrespect of a goalkeeper from Neymar!

“He takes his time; he staggers; he waits and waits, waits till the goalkeeper is almost on his backside. And then rolls it into the other corner. How cool was that?”

Following a penalty shootout victory over Japan, Luka Modric and his teammates will now play Croatia in the World Cup quarterfinals.
