Where Are The Super Eagles? Europe Fans Miss Nigeria in World Cup

If there is one team the world is missing at the moment in the world cup, it’s Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria and its nationality team; the Super Eagles, which is quite ironic considering Nigerians are happy enough to see their team absent from what could have been a disastrous tournament.

For some European fans present in the tournament, the Super Eagles absence is very much noticeable to them as a video that was released online had fans asking of Nigeria’s national team.

On camera, some spectators in Qatar are heard querying why Nigeria’s Super Eagles won’t be competing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Some European supporters have questioned the lack of Nigeria in Qatar in the viral video that was shot outside Al Bayt Stadium.

“We are here in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup finals, where are the Super Eagles?” the first fan said while, another responded: “Where are the Super Eagles, where are the Super Eagles.”

Nigerian supporters have reacted by promising that the Super Eagles will take part in the upcoming World Cup.

After losing to Ghana in the final round of qualifications on the basis of away goals, the Super Eagles were unable to advance to the competition. Africa was also represented by Senegal, Cameroon, Morocco, and Tunisia in addition to the Black Stars.

Ghana, who denied Nigeria the opportunity, was unable to advance past the group stage after losing their opening match in Group H 3-2 to Portugal, coming back to overcome South Korea 3-2, and falling 2-0 to Uruguay to finish the campaign.

The Super Eagles’ next task will be the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they will play Guinea-Bissau at Abuja National Stadium in March.

Nigeria is in first place in their group with six points after defeating Sao Tome & Principe 10-0 and Sierra Leone 2-1 in their opening games.
