Southgate Takes Bold Move Removing Star From England Squad

England manager, Gareth Southgate is one man no one wants to be in his shoes at the moment seeing as a lot of pressure falls on the Englishman’s shoulders going into the Qatar World Cup, especially while short on the choice of quality Right Backs with Reece James getting injured recently.

There have been quite a lot of debates facing this issue with so many narratives divided on whether Southgate should go ahead with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold or drop the player entirely from the squad, which at the moment seems difficult with Reece James not back to fitness.

The Chelsea defender, Reece James as per reports will not travel with the England team to the World Cup in Qatar due to his injury.

According to Sky Sports, the choice was made during Tuesday’s conversations with manager Gareth Southgate.

It was determined that the full-knee back’s injury sustained against AC Milan in the Champions League last month has not healed sufficiently.

James took a plane to Dubai to participate in a rigorous rehabilitation program in an effort to qualify for Qatar.

He has even been hesitantly running recently at Chelsea’s Cobham training facility.

But Southgate has made the difficult choice to inform James that he cannot take the chance of picking him for his 26-man squad, which will be unveiled on Thursday.
