Singer Blackface calls out Wizkid and Banky W, claims they stole his song

Veteran Nigerian singer, Blackface Naija recently came out with claims that Wizkid and Banky W stole his song.

After the interview Banky W had with TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchenda, on Bounce Radio, which brought in a lot of buzz on social media, Blackface has yet again accused the EME boss and his former signee, Wizkid of sampling one of his song ‘I like the way you’.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Blackface ordered the duo, Banky W and Wizkid to call him as soon as possible.

The veteran wrote, “Make una tag them to call me as the #copycopy and over lifting didn’t stop there they took #twistandturn of my album #risingsun to do that garbage they call #ginger again…you never finish one matter you dey enter another one? Na @samklef cause all these for reproducing my sound for you to ride on !Keep being on the run ….you still getting served too! Call me 📞”

TopNaija recalls that this however is not the first time Blackface came out to accuse the music executives of stealing his songs. In 2018, he sued them for intellectual property theft.

“I have remained quiet while my name has been dragged in the mud the past few years.

“Some of Nigeria’s biggest artists have infringed on my copyrights but I always restricted myself to speaking out against this in the media.

“Maybe because I always felt that music is an art and not really a business where you bring in lawyers and all that.That’s why I couldn’t believe when I was sued for N50m by the same people who stole my intellectual property.

“I have nothing personal against Wizkid & BankyW, in fact I can say I groove to both their music, but the fact is that they stole my song in 2011 and there’s clear evidence to prove it.

“We’ll allow the Court to decide…”
