Singer Afroman files paperwork to run for America President

American singer Joseph Edgar Foreman, popularly known as Afroman, has taken a step towards running for the highest elected office in the United States by filing the required paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission for the 2024 presidential election.

Afroman, known for his hit song “Because I Got High,” is running as an Independent and has named his presidential committee “Joseph Afroman Foreman for President.”

Afroman announced his intention to run for president during a concert in Missouri in December, where he shared his dreams of becoming the President of the United States, and humorously dubbed it the “20-20-FRO” election.

While Afroman’s presidential campaign is expected to be unique and unconventional, his platform is unsurprisingly centered on the national legalization of marijuana.

TMZ reported that Afroman’s emphasis on marijuana legalization aligns with his well-known advocacy for cannabis.

Throughout his music career, Afroman has been vocal about his support for marijuana use and has used his platform to advocate for the decriminalization and legalization of the plant.
