The Champions League tie between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund left a sour tooth for the French side to travel back home with after they succumbed to a 1-0 deficit at the Signal Iduna Park. For PSG coach, Luis Enrique, there was a lot to reel about their Dortmund’s approach to their game plan.

The Ligue 1 champions now face an uphill battle to overturn the deficit in the return leg at the Parc des Princes.

Niclas Fullkrug’s goal proved to be the decider in a tightly contested match, leaving PSG with work to do in the second leg.

Reflecting on the defeat, PSG manager Luis Enrique acknowledged the challenging atmosphere and praised Borussia Dortmund as a well-prepared opponent.

“Our goal was to press. We have tried to defend ourselves on their right side and defend their long balls. They are a very well-worked team,” Enrique remarked to reporters.

Enrique highlighted a difference in intensity between the first and second halves, noting an improvement in PSG’s attacking play after the break.

Despite the defeat, PSG remains confident ahead of the return leg, with Enrique expressing optimism about the support they will receive from their home crowd at the Parc des Princes.

PSG will now regroup and prepare to host Borussia Dortmund for the crucial second leg as they aim to secure a spot in the Champions League final.
