Our goal is to make sure nothing works in Nigeria -- Simon Ekpa

Simon Ekpa, a prominent Biafra agitator and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, has voiced his reaction to the recent appointment of new Service Chiefs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Simon Ekpa, who is based in Finland and known for his separatist views, took to his official Twitter handle to express his opinion, stating that the appointment of new service chiefs cannot quell the call for a Biafra referendum.

The appointment of the new Service Chiefs came after Tinubu dismissed the previous holders of these positions on Monday. Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, who hails from Enugu in the southeast, was named as the new Chief of Naval Staff among the replacements.

Responding to the appointments, Ekpa questioned whether they would address the perceived imbalances within Tinubu’s government. He expressed doubt that the appointments would address the pervasive diversity challenges faced by the Nigerian government, which have fueled the agitation for Biafra’s liberation.

In his statement, Ekpa highlighted several key issues that he believes remain unresolved despite the appointment of the new Service Chiefs. He questioned whether the appointments would remove Shettima as the Vice President, change the Islamic state agenda, abolish the 1989 Abuja declaration, or prevent Biafra from seceding from Nigeria.

He also raised concerns regarding the 1999 Constitution, the faulty amalgamation of Nigeria, and the recovery of ancestral lands invaded by Fulanis across the country.

Ekpa emphasized that these fundamental issues are the driving force behind the Biafra Liberation movement and will ultimately lead to a conclusive declaration of independence.

While acknowledging the appointment of someone from Enugu state as the Chief of Naval Staff, Ekpa pointed out that this position has historically been held by individuals from the South. He argued that this appointment alone would not address the core grievances fueling the Biafra Liberation agitation.

Ekpa concluded his statement by affirming that the Biafra Liberation movement is gaining momentum and vowed to ensure that nothing functions smoothly in Nigeria until Biafra achieves independence. His stance reflects the ongoing commitment of Biafra agitators to pursue their cause, irrespective of the recent changes in the leadership of Nigeria’s security apparatus.

“Biafra Liberation is on top gear and our goal is to make sure nothing works in Nigeria until Biafra Exit!” Simon Ekpa was quoted as saying.

As the Biafra Liberation movement continues to garner attention and support, the responses from figures like Simon Ekpa shed light on the ongoing challenges and grievances underlying the calls for secession.

The appointment of new Service Chiefs, while a significant development in Nigeria’s security landscape, has not deterred advocates for Biafra’s independence, who remain resolute in their pursuit of self-determination.
