Nigerian Army raises alarm over On-going false report

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, issued a statement through the Nigerian Army’s official Twitter account, @HQNigeriaArmy, cautioning the public about the proliferation of false information regarding the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal for 2023.

Expressing concern over the surge in deceptive online recruitment information, the Nigerian Army emphasized the non-authenticity of the purported DSS Recruitment Portal for the year 2023.

“The Nigerian Army (NA) has noted the alarming rate of the spread of fake online recruitment information, particularly regarding the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal for the year 2023,” the statement declared.

Highlighting the fraudulent nature of the online publication, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu clarified,

“The false online publication is a deliberate fraudulent effort by some unscrupulous persons to mislead the public.”

Emphasizing the potential harm caused by the dissemination of such false information, the statement urged caution, stating unequivocally that the “fake online Direct Short Service Portal 2023 is a scam and should be clearly avoided.”

The NA assured the public of its proactive measures to apprehend those responsible for the fraudulent portal. Additionally, it urged citizens to report any suspicious recruitment portals or activities.

Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent and credible recruitment process, the army has directed individuals to rely solely on official channels for recruitment information.

These channels include the Nigerian Army’s official website (https://army.mil.ng) and verified social media platforms such as Twitter (@HQNigerianArmy), Facebook (HQ Nigerian Army), and Instagram (HQNigerianArmy).
