Nigeria vs. South Africa: "It's not about being Scared" -- Chukwueze

Nigeria international, Samuel Chukwueze has expressed the need for caution while sharing his fears ahead of facing South Africa in the AFCON Semi-final round following the heroics of Bafana Bafana’s Ronwen Williams against Cape Verde in the Quarter-final stage.

The South African goalie performed heroics never before seen in any international tournament to aid the Bafana Bafana into the next stage of the competition, raising some fears in the opposition team, Nigeria.

However, AC Milan player, Chukwueze explains that the same factors that applied to determine the fate of Cape Verde will not affect the Super Eagles team when Nigeria faces South Africa.

According to the former Villarreal star, the Super Eagles will be going into the game with preconceived safety and caution within the 90-(120 plus minutes) if need be.

“We will win without going into penalties.” Chukwueze assures, downplaying any apprehension regarding Williams’ prowess as a penalty-saving specialist.

Speaking of Cape Verde’s mistakes in the Quarter-final clash and Ronwen Williams’ heroics, the Nigerian international surmises;

“Penalty is a game of luck, anybody can miss. It is the one he [Williams] saw that he saved.”

Reinforcing the believe in playing from a position of safety and strength, Samuel Chukwueze addressed;

“It is not about being scared, it is about being on a safer side at the moment. We have been watching their clips, they are good on their own, but we will try our best and win,”
