“Mudryk lacks football intelligence” — Drogba blasts

Chelsea‘s defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night still hurts former Chelsea player and Legend, Didier Drogba as he speaks harshly of winger, Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Premier League tie ended on a humbling note for the Blues who walked back to West London with their tails in hand after suffering a 4-1 defeat.

Reacting to the loss, Drogba said of the game and the player while speaking on talkSPORT;

“You’ve got Mudryk coming on, he hasn’t learnt anything, running into people, kicking it out of play. He doesn’t look like he’s got football intelligence,”

Introduced in the second half with Chelsea trailing 2-0, Mudryk struggled to capitalize on the opportunity to salvage the match. His poor finishing, coupled with a notable lapse in passing accuracy, contributed to a lackluster performance that drew the ire of Drogba.

Mudryk, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk for a substantial £89 million fee in January of the previous year, has been under scrutiny for failing to consistently showcase the talent expected of him.

While glimpses of his potential have been witnessed, critics question whether the significant investment in Mudryk could have been more judiciously directed elsewhere.
