Ministerial list: Senate begins probe of Ministerial nominees
The Nigerian Senate has commenced the confirmation hearing of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominee list that was sent to the red chamber.
This is in response to a motion moved by the Senate Leader, Senator Dave Umahi.
The President transmitted a 28-man list of ministerial nominees to the senate for screening last week, with the minister-designate list sent through Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
As common with Nigeria’s political lists, the ministerial nominee list attracted a lot of controversy from various sections of the country’s political divide.
However, the exercise is set to either confirm or reject the nominee list that was sent to the Senate.
