Manchester United to lose 10-players in Summer overhaul

The INEOS era begins at Old Trafford, and Manchester United could see a significant clearing out. No one is safe.

Manchester United are reportedly gearing up for a significant overhaul during the upcoming summer transfer window, as they aim to revitalize their squad following a disappointing season that has seen them fall behind in the race for Champions League football.

Currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table, Erik ten Hag’s men find themselves three points adrift of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and eight points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, intensifying the need for restructuring within the team.

The recent confirmation of a deal with British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the boss of INEOS, has sparked hope among United fans for a brighter future, with Ratcliffe and his team set to assume control of the club’s football operations.

According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, United are preparing to offload as many as 10 players during the summer transfer window.

Among the notable names potentially facing exits are Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Facundo Pellistri, all of whom have less than 12 months remaining on their contracts.

Additionally, forward Mason Greenwood, currently on loan at Getafe in La Liga, has reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona, with United setting an asking price for the 23-year-old.

Midfielder Casemiro could also find himself on the transfer list, with links suggesting a potential move to the Middle East following a subpar campaign.

Players currently out on loan, including Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Hannibal Mejbri, and Alvaro Fernandez, could also face uncertain futures at Old Trafford as they may be deemed surplus to requirements.

Furthermore, the report suggests that forward Marcus Rashford’s future at the club is uncertain following a disappointing season, with United potentially considering parting ways with the Englishman.

In addition to those mentioned, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Tom Heaton are all expected to depart when their contracts expire at the end of the season, further highlighting the extent of the anticipated squad overhaul at Manchester United.
