Let's be honest about Chelsea -- Blues legend blasts Boehly

Former Chelsea defender, William Gallas has called out the premier league side on its approach to the transfer market, accusing the London side’s hierarchy of not knowing what they are doing.

According to Gallas, he wonders why the club’s owners and those in charge would spend over £1 billion on players without bringing in experienced stars to add into the mix.

Chelsea have started the season very much on a poor note, with an opening day draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge and 2 defeats out of the four games played so far.

The West-London side have only won one game this season which is the 3-0 rout on newly promoted side, Luton Town.

William Gallas in his criticism of the Chelsea hierarchy, claims the team does not have a squad capable of winning the premier league title despite the huge spending.

The 2-times Champions of Europe have signed 22 players in the transfer window while seeing off the likes of Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Loftus-cheek, Kai Havertz, Kepa Arrizabalaga either to rivals or Saudi Arabian clubs.

William Gallas in his quote said;

“It feels like Chełsea don’t really know what they are doing,” he told Gambling Zone. They have bought a lot of young players, given them 7-8 year contracts, and it looks like they are thinking about the future, instead of thinking about trying to win the Premier League this season. That is my concern.

“You can’t win the Premier League with only young players who don’t have experience,” he added.
