Key Arsenal star unhappy at the club

Speculation surrounds Arsenal as reports emerge suggesting goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is discontented at the club and could be eyeing a departure in the upcoming summer transfer window, regardless of their Premier League fate.

Despite Arsenal’s commendable season under the guidance of manager Mikel Arteta, currently occupying a promising third place in the Premier League standings, just two points behind league leaders Liverpool, internal unrest appears to be brewing.

While the Gunners continue their European campaign, albeit with a setback in the Champions League after losing the first leg of their round of 16 tie against Porto, attention is shifting towards the summer transfer window.

According to reports from Football Transfers via Caught Offside, Arsenal is bracing themselves for Ramsdale’s potential exit, with David Raya already identified as the preferred choice to assume the role of the club’s number-one goalkeeper.

Furthermore, it’s been suggested that Arsenal has set their sights on Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj as a potential replacement for Ramsdale. Journalist Steve Kay highlighted Ramaj’s qualities, noting his proficiency in ball distribution, a trait highly valued by Arteta.

Despite beginning the season as Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper, Ramsdale quickly found himself displaced by Raya in September, relegating him to appearances primarily in cup competitions such as the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Discussing Ramsdale’s future, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano indicated that despite rumors linking him to Chelsea, there’s currently no concrete interest from the London club. Romano emphasized that Chelsea is not actively pursuing Ramsdale or any other goalkeeper deals at the moment.

With limited playing time at Arsenal this season, Ramsdale faces the prospect of being excluded from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for EURO 2024, scheduled to take place in Germany this summer, should his situation not improve.
