“I didn’t say ‘No’ and I paid for it” — DJ Cuppy
Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has candidly revealed that she endured one of the toughest years of her life in 2023 due to her inability to decline various opportunities and commitments, including her former engagement.
Speaking at a recent public event, DJ Cuppy shared insights into her challenging experiences, attributing her struggles to her reluctance to say no to numerous demands on her time and energy.
“One of the things I learned is saying No. I am gonna be honest with you guys, I had one of the worst years of my life last year because I did not say no,” DJ Cuppy confessed.
The renowned DJ elaborated on the multitude of responsibilities she took on, which ultimately led to burnout. She expressed regret for not exercising discretion in accepting opportunities and commitments, including her engagement, which she now acknowledges as a decision she should have reconsidered.
“I didn’t say no to opportunities that I should have said no to, I didn’t say no to a fiance I should have said no to, I didn’t say no to taking things on,” DJ Cuppy admitted.
Reflecting on her overwhelming schedule, DJ Cuppy recounted juggling multiple roles, including hosting a morning breakfast show at the BBC, pursuing her DJing career, planning a wedding, and engaging in academic endeavors at Oxford University.
