Dubai places ban on visa application for Nigerians over recent fight in Satwa – Actor Aremu Afolayan
Popular Nigerian actor Aremu Afolayan has alleged that Dubai has banned visa applications for Nigerians over the recent fight in Satwa.
The reported ban comes after some African immigrants (Nigerians) caused quite a number of chaos in the UAE, Satwa.
A viral video from the incident showed how young Nigerian men with machetes wreaked havoc in the Satwa neighborhood at night.
They were captured breaking the side windows of a car, causing destruction to other properties, chasing after innocent civilians, and generally disturbed the peace in the quiet neighborhood.

Days after the video went viral, it was announced that Dubai police had arrested the troublemakers.
Now, the Dubai government has allegedly taken it a step further by slowing down the process for Nigerians applying for Dubai visas.
According to an unconfirmed report, the Dubai authorities are currently not issuing visas to Nigerian men below the age of 36.
Reacting, Dubai-based Nigerian actor Aremu Afolayan lamented that this decision reached by the Dubai authorities will affect hardworking Nigerians.
He said Nigerians have a right to be in Dubai legally and those Nigerians causing trouble in Dubai are most likely illegal.
“Pick up the trouble makers and don’t use that to destroy the livelihood of every other Nigerians,” he said in a video.
He added that everyone is an immigrant in other countries. Therefore, it will be wrong to judge all Nigerians based on the actions of a few.
“They make trouble and kill each other, take them to jail, do anything to them, they deserve it. But there are innocent Nigerians that need to feed,” he added.
He also questioned the Nigerian ambassador to Dubai on his stand on this new development.
