The business magnate stated that if, Ademola Adeleke, the Osun Governor-elect, fails and derails, he would not hold back from criticising his government.

The father of music star, Davido, stated this at the 8th undergraduate and 4th postgraduate convocation of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun state on Sunday, July 24.

As reported by The Punch, Mr Ademola Adeleke was one of the dignitaries in attendance.

Deji said; “I told the Governor-elect (my brother) and his colleagues I said ‘you’re lucky because you don’t have any godfather to refund any money to, so whatever people contributed for your election, it’s a sacrifice for a better Nigeria, for a better State, so you and your colleagues are not under any pressure, the only thing you need to do out there is to go and serve the people.

“And I threatened them that I will be the first to call a press conference if I see things going wrong with his government. I will be the first to alert the world that your Governor (Senator Ademola Adeleke) is derailing.

“I’ve told him and his team not to allow anyone that is not ready to serve or who is looking for money to steal from the poor people into their team, Osun is a very poor State.”

Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was announced the winner of the Osun State Governorship election on Sunday, July 17, with 403,371 votes.

This is coming after Davido, the nephew of Adeleke Ademola dragged the commission for failing to issue a Certificate of Return to his uncle 48 hours after the election.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Davido wrote;

48hrs after our @AAdeleke_01 victory at the Osun Gubernatorial elections, we are yet to receive our certificate.

“@inecnigeria should we send you fuel money? LOL Please no one should tamper with the will of the Osun People! Issue the certificate as required by Law!”

Adeleke polled the highest vote to beat his major contender, Governor Gboyega Oyetola who polled 375,027, and Action Democratic Party (ADP) Kehinde Atanda as the second runner-up.
