Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo has cautioned residents against violent protests regarding the current fuel scarcity and new naira notes.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, Makinde emphasized the right to peacefully express one’s feelings but stated that the government will not tolerate violence.

He has also put security agencies on high alert to prevent any law and order breaches.

Instead of protesting, he suggested using PVCs to bring about a responsible government in the upcoming elections.

Makinde said the state is working with local government chairmen to provide palliatives for vulnerable individuals affected by the scarcity.
