Bruce Mwape accused of sexual misconduct by Zambia team

Zambian Women’s national team coach Bruce Mwape faces serious allegations of inappropriate behavior towards his players.

Bruce Mwape is now under investigation by FIFA over the allegations as he accused of  inappropriately touching players at the Women’s World Cup.

FIFA received reports on the misconduct and have reportedly began investigations on the Zambian Women’s national team coach .

According to sources close to the Guardian, several Zambia Women’s teammates witnessed the coach rubbing his hands over the breasts of one of the players last Friday.

The informant was quoted as saying,

“It’s not appropriate for a coach to be touching a player’s breasts.”

The members of the team involved reportedly decided to wait until the end of the Copper Queens’ World Cup campaign to make their grievances with the coach known to FIFA delegates.

This is reportedly the second time, Bruce Mwape is facing such accusations.

Bruce Mwape in September 2022  was referred to FIFA for investigation by Zambia’s FA following accusations against him and the former U17 national team coach Kaluba Kangwa.

The Zambian coach was accused of using his position of power to gain sexual favours from players.

An unidentified player close to the incident was quoted then as saying,

“If he [Mwape] wants to sleep with someone, you have to say yes. It’s normal that the coach sleeps with the players in our team.”

However, Bruce Mwape continues to deny the accusations filed against him, describing the complaints as “fake allegations”.
