Armando Broja Wasting His Time At Chelsea—Alan Hutton

Chelsea fans may see Armando Broja as one for the future, hence a pet project for the Stamford Bridge side, but such sentiments aren’t shared by Alan Hutton, who believes the forward is wasting his career sitting on the bench for the Blues when he could be a starter elsewhere.

The Chelsea striker, Armando Broja, has been encouraged by former Premier League defender Alan Hutton to instead go out on loan in January.

Hutton prefers that Broja play for Newcastle United as opposed to Chelsea’s bench.

In January, Broja has been mentioned in connection with loan moves to Newcastle and Everton.

Hutton, though, thinks that Broja, who has only played 392 minutes for the Blues so far this year, ought to be seeking to leave Graham Potter’s team in pursuit of more consistent playing time.

“I do not see why not. You want to play football. He did really well at Southampton, he has gone back into Chelsea and he’s getting game time,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“Graham Potter is bringing him on off the bench in a lot of the games so far. He’ll feel that he can do a job at Chelsea.”

“Whether that’s going to be from the starting lineup, only Potter will know that.”

“If he’s not going to get the minutes he wants, he has to look somewhere else and I think Newcastle are a team that are going places at this moment in time. You’d want to be part of that.”

He added:

“But, again, if everyone is fit he probably will not play week in week out. That is where there is going to be a difficult decision for him. He has to go somewhere to play, not just sit on the bench.”
