In a surprising turn of events, street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has broken his silence and explained the reason behind his absence from the pre-inauguration concert of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential-elect of Nigeria.

The concert, held at the M.K. Abiola Stadium in Abuja, was organized to celebrate Tinubu’s forthcoming tenure as president, and more than 40 artists were contracted to perform at the event.

However, fans and observers quickly noticed that Portable’s name was missing from the list of performers, which raised questions, especially considering his previous association with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his campaign song for Tinubu.

Responding to the inquiries, Portable clarified the situation, revealing that he declined to perform due to a disagreement over the financial terms.

According to him, artists were being offered 10 million naira for their performances, but he was only offered five million naira. This significant disparity in payment led him to tear up the contract sheet.

In addition to expressing his disappointment with the unequal compensation, Portable took aim at fellow artists who he believes did not support Tinubu during his campaign but are now rushing to sing his praises as he is about to assume the presidency.
