12-year-old boy killed while testing out a bulletproof charm with older brother

A young lad has, unfortunately, met his demise after testing the effectiveness of a bulletproof charm with his older brother in Kwara State.

The older brother of the 12-year-old deceased, Yusuf Abubakar, mistakenly caused his brother’s death while testing a gunshot protective charm in Dutse Gogo Town, in Kaiama LGA of Kwara State.

TopNaija understands that the sad incident occurred on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

It was said that the brothers donned the bulletproof charm and the eldest took a gun that belongs to their father, a hunter, and tested the efficiency of the charm on his younger brother, leading to his death.

Confirming the incident on Monday, October 3, the State Police Command’s spokesperson, Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement said:

At about 2200hrs, of 2/10/2022, a report was received at Kaiama police station about the killing Yusuf by his elder brother, both sons of one Abubakar Abubakar, a hunter in Dutse Gogo town via Kaiama, during the process of testing the efficacy of newly procured gunshot protective charm.

This incident happened after fortifying themselves with the protective charm, the elder son brought his father’s dane gun and shot his younger sibling. The charm failed and the 12-year-old Yusuf Abubakar d#ed on the spot.

The culprit escaped into the bushes immediately after the act was committed.“
