You are being paid enough -- Thierry Henry blasts Joao Felix

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has called out Chelsea forward, Joao Felix, for failing to score in the Blues’ Champions League 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday night. Henry believes that Felix, who is being paid a large sum of money, needs to score goals to make a difference for Chelsea.

Speaking on the UEFA Champions League Post-Match Show, Henry said, “They pay you the big bucks and you have to make a difference.” He went on to criticize Felix’s lack of composure in the box, despite having a golden opportunity to score against Real Madrid.

Felix, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, was alone on goal but failed to maintain separation from his defender and missed a chance to break the game open for Chelsea. Henry believes that the young forward needed to show more awareness in the box and cut across to give himself an advantage.

“When you guys (defenders) are chasing and I know that you are chasing, I cut across. Slow, a quick striker, whatever it’s. It will give you the advantage of having a one-v-one or a red card,” Henry said.

Despite Chelsea’s defeat in the first-leg of the last-8 tie, the club still has a chance to turn things around when they host Real Madrid in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge next week.
