Jurgen Klopp while speaking with the club’s media team, explained his decision to depart at the end of the season, stating it is a move he considers to be right for him as he believes he no longer can handle the pressure anymore.

“I am convinced it is the one I have to take. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again,” Klopp explained.

“For me, it was super, super, super-important that I can help to bring this team back onto the rails,” he stated.

“I really inform everybody as early as somehow possible,” Klopp noted.

When questioned about the potential impact of his departure on the remainder of the season, Klopp urged everyone to focus on the team and the upcoming games.

“The way we grew together in the last few years is absolutely exceptional. Nothing has to happen because of me,” Klopp assured, emphasizing the exceptional unity within the team.

Regarding the reaction of the club’s ownership to his decision, Klopp mentioned a mutual understanding.

“They accepted it. Nobody was really happy. The few people I have told so far were not really happy. I am not happy with it, I just know it’s right,” Klopp explained.

When asked about the influence of his wife, Ulla, on the decision, Klopp revealed that he explained the situation to her, providing additional private details. While acknowledging Ulla’s support, Klopp emphasized that the decision was based on what he felt was right for his well-being.
