Nollywood actresses that graced our scenes in the early 90s and 2000 have nearly been forgotten until thorough research about their current lifestyle was being done.

Sandra Achums

 

Sandra was born on 18 June 1973 in Imo State.

She completed both her primary and secondary education in Imo State.

Her university education was in Lagos, where she attended State college Isolo, Lagos.

She later joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 1995 after she completed her university education.

Sandra is married to Tony, and their union is blessed with four beautiful children.

In 2006, she left her acting career, relocated to Germany all for her family.

She is currently living in Germany with her family and has no plans on relocating back to Nigeria without her family.

Her first movie after she completed her education was “Deadly Affair”, a 1995 movie which featured other popular actors such as Emeka Ike, Jide Kosoko, and Dolly Unachukwu. Sandra Achums was among the actresses that dominated the Nigerian movie scenes in the 1990s before she relocated to Germany. She acted alongside other stars in the movie industry such as Clem Ohameze, Kanayo O Kanayo, Pete Edochie, Kenneth Okonkwo, Amaechi Muonagor, Regina Askia, Genevieve Nnaji, Patience Ozokwor, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Zach Orji, and Ngozi Ezeonu. She featured in a movie titled Crossroads alongside Ramey Nouah and Joseph Benjamin.

Lilian Bola Bach.

Lilian is a Nigerian actress and model who was born In 9 November 1970.

She studied Theatre arts in the University of Lagos..

Lilian was born in Lagos Island to a Yoruba mother and a Polish father.

As a result of her father’s profession, she lived in various parts of the country during her formative years, attending Army Children’s school, Port Harcourt and Idi Araba Secondary School, Lagos.

She briefly majored in theatre arts at the University of Lagos.

She lost her father at the age of ten.

Lilian came into the limelight in the 1990s as a model.

She also competed in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and featured in several television commercials, becoming the face of Delta medicated soap.

She commenced her acting career in 1997, starring in several Nollywood movies of the Yoruba and English genres.[7]Lilian married business mogul, Mr Alaka, in 2012. She is a Pentecostal Christian.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Lilian Bach said about her reason to quit Nollywood:

‘I purposely took a break from doing movies. I became a producer and I wanted to be doing my own movies but piracy couldn’t allow me. In Nollywood, experience is actually the best teacher; nobody really tells you the truth. You have to go through the experience to find out what others are suffering from. We cannot continue to ignore the fact that piracy has been trying to bring the industry down. That was why I took a break. I couldn’t continue producing movies without recouping my money. It is not a good thing’.

 

Susan Patrick.

Remember Veteran Nollywood actor, Susan Patrick and her iconic performance on the blockbuster movie, Sakobi with the attendant attention it gained during the time it reigned.

Well, the lead act in that movie who took a break to marry and nurse her marriage, Susan Patrick is ready for a come back to the industry that gave her fame and fortune.

Recall that Susan had lost her husband to Leukamia in the United States of America and after mourning him, she spoke with blogger and owner of “SDK Blog”, Stella Dimoko Korkus where she spoke on issues surrounding her and how she has faired so far.

According to her, she said “It wasn’t an easy time for that past years, it’s a very sad and long story, after my husband died, life wasn’t that interesting again because I lost the best man but I thank God for the children God used him to blessed me with. My last sister kept encouraging me to return to the Nigerian entertainment scene and even my colleagues Stella Damasus and Shan George have been very encouraging too”.

Susan who has a new Instagram handle @officialsusanpatrick is back on the social media after she took out time to mourn the shocking loss of her husband who passed on after battling Leukamia in the US.

Susan was alleged to have snatched another woman’s hubby while a student at Lagos State University (LASU). She quit Nollywood to face her family thereafter.

 

Maureen Solomon

Maureen was born 23 December 1983 (age 40). She is from Abia State and her husband is simply identified as Mr. Okereke

Solomon had  revealed in an interview that she started performing on stage while she was in elementary school and had always hoped to become a well-known actor.

At the age of 17, Solomon made her acting debut in the Nigerian film business with the movie titled Alternative which was directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen.

Solomon described her first movie audition which was for the movie Alternative as a mistake on the part of Nigerian movie director Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen who mistook her for one of the registered auditionees and gave her a script to memorize and later perform/render.

Solomon revealed that in actuality she coincidentally just happened to be at audition venue at the time.

Solomon received a call back the following day and was assigned a role of which she was paid ₦2000 for ($20, per 2001 exchange rate).

Solomon quit the Nigerian movie industry in 2011.

Solomon in 2005 married Mr. Okereke, a medical doctor and they have two children together.

In April 9, 2019 Nigerian actress, Maureen Solomon has taken to her Instagram page to thank God as she is finally pregnant with her 3rd child after 12 years.

Benita Nzeribe

Benita Nzeribe is a popular Nigerian actress, television personality and entrepreneur born on August 11, 1980.

Benita originally hails from Ihiala, Anambra state where she had both her primary and secondary education.

She obtained a bachelor’s degree in English Language at the Abia state University in Ituru.

Benita started acting from her secondary school days while participating in drama and stage plays. She came through professionally in 1998 where she joined the Nigerain movie industry at the age of 18.

Nzeribe got her first role in the movie “Beyond our dream” and became a public figure in 2002 for her intriguing role in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Agony of a mother”.

Ever since Benita came to limelight, she has starred in more 150 nollywood movies such as “Fure on Mountain”, “Street Life”, “The Scorpion”, “The Peacemaker”, “Games Men Play”, “Peace Talk” and so on.

Benita has won numerous awards such as Best Actress of the year at the City People Entertainment award, Best Actress in a supporting role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Nollywood most promising act to watch at the Best of Nollywood Awards and so on.

The  Ihiala, Anambra-born actress who used to be a top player in Nollywood, has curiously taken a back seat in the scheme of things.

There was a time she grabbed the lead role easily and was the face on nearly eight out of 10 posters released in Nollywood.

Although observers said she staged a come back a few years back when she played lead in a movie on child trafficking titled ‘St. Mary’ and when she secured an endorsement deal with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nigeria, Benita couldn’t assure her fans with those stint that she was staging a come back. “She fizzled out so soon,” observed a film journalist.

Born to Chief and Mrs. H. C. Nzeribe, Benita whose favourite colors are brown and blue is the third child of a family of four.

Acting for the actress, generally regarded as one the hottest talents working on the movie circuit, came naturally. Indeed, it was for her a child’s dream fulfilled. But Benita never took acting, which made her so popular both at home and abroad, seriously until she left the convent school about 16 years ago. She had visited a film location with a friend to watch other actors at work. It was just that encounter that ignited that long held passion for the world of make believe. It was with that passion and zeal which germinated after her early school days that drove her into the A-list of the industry’s unofficial top 10 actresses.
