Chelsea fans turn on their players after Hudson-Odoi goal

Chelsea clinched a dramatic 3-2 victory in a thriller versus Nottingham Forest, courtesy of late goals by Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson, however fans were not impressed.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s triumph not only secured them a crucial three points but also bolstered their chances of securing a spot in Europe for the upcoming season.

The match saw Mykhailo Mudryk open the scoring, only for Willy Boly to level the scoreline. A standout moment came from Chelsea academy graduate Callum Hudson-Odoi, who showcased his talent with a sublime finish to put Forest ahead 2-1. However, Chelsea rallied back, clinching victory with their late goals.

This pivotal win saw Chelsea draw level on points with sixth-placed Newcastle and establish a three-point cushion over Manchester United in the race for European qualification.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest finds themselves in a relatively safe position, sitting three points clear of Luton Town in the relegation zone with a significantly superior goal difference heading into the final game of the season.

Despite the victory, a contingent of Chelsea fans took to social media platforms to express their discontent over the club’s decision to offload Callum Hudson-Odoi to Forest for £3.5 million last summer. Comparing him to big-money signings Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, some supporters argued that Hudson-Odoi remains a superior talent.

Responding to a post regarding Hudson-Odoi, one user on X, formerly Twitter, lamented, “Clear of Mudryk and Madueke ffs.” Another chimed in, criticizing Chelsea’s recruitment strategy, stating, “Chelsea sold him for 3m and signed Mudryk and Madueke. Poor recruitment.”

The sentiment was echoed by others, with one fan asserting, “He is far better than all Chelsea attackers,” while another proclaimed, “And he just made Chelsea regret they sold him for nothing!”
