Famous People you didn't know support Chelsea

Chelsea, of course it’s no secret are having one of the worst of its seasons in the current campaign, sitting 1oth place, far off from where the club is often known to be around.

However, this article is not an analysis into how bad the Blues are this season or how unlucky they’ve been not to be within the conversations of a top 4 spot despite spending on an average €1 billion in the transfer market.

This article is about a couple of famous people who are probably feeling bad themselves about how their favorite football team is doing this season.

In a remarkable display of global fandom, Chelsea Football Club has attracted a diverse array of A-list supporters from various corners of the world. Hollywood stars, renowned musicians, and even political figures have all pledged their allegiance to the Premier League powerhouse.

Leading the pack is the Irish actor Gabriel Byrne, famous for his role in “The Usual Suspects,” who has been a long-time Chelsea supporter.

Alongside him, the likes of Joseph Fiennes, Sir Michael Caine famously known for starring in a couple of Christopher Nolan films and for playing Alfred Pennyworth in the Batman films, is a Blue at heart.

Charlize Theron, there is a photo of the ‘Fast and Furious’ star holding a Chelsea kit, but we do not know how far her love for the Blues go, but we would for sure add her to the list.

Will Ferrell is another famous Hollywood Chelsea supporter who has been spotted on a number of occasions donning the Blues’ kit.

Simon Pegg is also another Hollywood star who has an affinity for ‘Blue’ blood (pun intended). The Mission Impossible star is another famous Chelsea fan, but sadly, he couldn’t sway his co-star, Tom Cruise to the West-London side of the divide.

Of course, there is also Hollywood director, Guy Ritchie, and last but not the least, Harry Potter star, Emma Watson who has been captured at the Stamford Bridge stadium on many occasions (we can’t imagine what her feelings are now, seeing as Chelsea are having one of its worst seasons)

International icons aren’t limited to Hollywood, as former U.S. President Bill Clinton has a Chelsea connection dating back to his Oxford days in the 1960s. The political heavyweight has continued to follow the club’s fortunes over the years.

Switching gears to the world of entertainment, Bollywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan proudly dons the Chelsea blue, aligning himself with the club’s global appeal.

He even managed to sneak in a line of dialogue about Chelsea winning the premier league in one of his movies “Game“.

Meanwhile, in the Nigerian entertainment scene, Nollywood stars have passionately embraced the Blues, with actors such as Osita Iheme, Genevieve Nnaji, and musicians like Kcee, Flavour, Mercy Aigbe, 2Baba, Davido, and 9ice showcasing unwavering support.

In the Nigerian music scene, Kcee, Flavour, Davido, and 9ice have all become synonymous with Chelsea pride. Davido, in particular, took his enthusiasm to another level, making his way into the player’s dressing room on occasion.

One of Nigeria’s most popular musicians, Davido, takes his Chelsea fandom to the next level by sharing an exclusive glimpse into the player’s dressing room. The artist has been spotted numerous times proudly donning Chelsea’s iconic jersey.

Of course, most recently he was asked to choose a 5-a-side team, and how better to show himself as a true blue than to mention a couple of players known to have played in a Chelsea kit.

9ice Unapologetically Flaunts the Blues

Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande, popularly known as 9ice, has emerged as one of the most unabashed Chelsea fans. Not only does he flaunt the club’s jersey himself, but he also dressed his baby boy in Chelsea colors during a memorable photoshoot in 2015.

When we talk about Nigerian Blues who show off the flag and are perhaps proud of joining the banter side of things; a few Nigerian celebs deserve a separate mention.

Peter Okoye

Following a terrible season, the Nigerian artiste has stopped posting about the Blues, perhaps trying to avoid the bantering eyes of his social media fans who wouldn’t hesitate to troll Peter Okoye after a bad game.

The icon of the P-Square fame is also famous for showing his love for the Blues on social media.

Frank Edoho, famous for hosting the Game Night show, “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, is perhaps the one celebrity who isn’t shy about letting the world know how he feels about Chelsea.

He may not be going on social media to ask his fans “Who Wants To Be A Chelsea fan“, but he sure has shown his dislike of Chelsea’s hard rivals, Manchester United and Arsenal on his Twitter. Of course, the famous personality did release a post recently where he jovially begged Victor Osimhen not to play in the premier league if it meant him playing for either Manchester United or Arsenal.

It is ironic however as some insiders say, Victor Osimhen is or perhaps was a Manchester United fan himself. Tough luck, Uncle Frank.

Good or bad, the West-London club continues to attract fans on sentimental levels, transcending geographical boundaries.

The good thing about Chelsea having a poor season? At least, we won’t have a couple of celebrity fans showing off the Blue flag on our social media feeds anytime soon to ‘us’ rival fans of the club.
