In a recent interview with PUNCH, Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe shed light on her marriage is like with her husband, Kazim Adeoti, and the way they navigate disagreements in their home.

The actress, known for her remarkable talent on screen, revealed that as a couple deeply entrenched in the filmmaking industry, they share a profound respect for each other’s opinions and strive to avoid unnecessary arguments.

Mercy Aigbe emphasized that their relationship is firmly anchored in mutual understanding and respect.

She even went as far as to express that when it comes to financial matters, she considers herself a business partner rather than just a wife.

“We disagree. I am very stubborn, and he is also stubborn. However, we respect each other’s opinions, and we don’t argue unnecessarily. Rather, we argue sensibly, and then we don’t look down on each other.

“Whenever any one of us makes a point, we both think about it and figure out the best way to do things. Our relationship is built on mutual understanding and respect, and that has been helping us,” Mercy Aigbe shared during the interview.

She further elaborated on their unique dynamic by saying,

“When we are doing business, I am not a wife, but a business partner because money is involved. I wear a different hat when it comes to business. When we are at home, I wear the hat of a wife.”

According to the actress, Kazim Adeoti is an understanding and non-dominating partner. She praised his ability to listen and engage in meaningful discussions, highlighting his role as a good leader in their relationship.

“He is actually a very understanding person, and he is not the bossy type. He is a good listener, and that makes him a good leader. Whenever I talk, he listens. He tries to reason with me, and we meet in the middle,” Mercy Aigbe revealed.

Reflecting on the early stages of her marriage to Kazim, during which she faced accusations of “snatching” him from another relationship, Mercy Aigbe shared her perspective on dealing with public opinions and criticisms.

“I just stayed focused. I am in charge of my life, and I know what works for me. At the end of the day, whether it is a good or bad decision, I would be the one to face the consequences. I don’t need people’s validation for whatever decision I take regarding my life,” she stated firmly.
