"We were there" -- Klopp opens up on Summer lapses

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp ahead of the clash against Chelsea at Anfield has opened up on the club’s plans in the previous Summer transfer market that saw the Reds miss out on a couple of important signings.

Speaking on the failed deals, the Liverpool boss confirmed the club had made plans to get Jude Bellingham in the summer before the England international made the move over to Real Madrid.

“We wanted Bellingham and realized it would not happen,” the German confirmed of the not so secret move for Bellingham.

Addressing the Moises Caicedo snub, Jurgen Klopp said;

“We thought we could maybe do Caicedo. So we went in… but he had an emotional agreement already with Chelsea and Pochettino. Lavia had his own reasons. So we were there.”

However, the Reds landed Japanese international, Wataru Endo who proved a bargain for Liverpool.

“We were lucky… we found Wataru!” Klopp admitted.

Ahead of the face off with the West-London visitors, the outgoing manager has charged the Anfield crowd to channel all their support for the team in what stands a very crucial match for Liverpool.

“I would like to thank you for the support I was given on Sunday but at the same time I have another request. Tonight we need a proper Anfield atmosphere.”
