The only way out for Harry Maguire -- Erik ten Hag reveals

Harry Maguire is one player whose shoes no one would want to be in at the moment, and unlike the mythical story of Midas, every thing Harry touches turns to a blade of criticism that tears at him.

In the midst of recurring scrutiny during the international break, Manchester United’s head coach, Erik ten Hag, has come to the defense of defender Harry Maguire, urging him to silence his critics through outstanding on-field displays.

Harry Maguire recently found himself in the spotlight once again after being singled out by Scotland fans for an own goal during England’s friendly match, which ended in a 3-1 victory for England at Hampden Park.

During a pre-match press conference in preparation for Manchester United’s upcoming Premier League clash against Brighton at Old Trafford this Saturday, Ten Hag did not mince words.

He labeled the recent treatment of Maguire as “disrespectful” and firmly asserted that the former Leicester City standout did not deserve such treatment.

“I have said many times, it is disrespectful; he doesn’t deserve it. He is a great player who consistently delivers top-notch performances,” Ten Hag declared.

“It’s baffling, but unfortunately, this is how the world works. Harry needs to counter these criticisms with exceptional performances.”

When questioned about Maguire’s response to yet another challenging week, Ten Hag remained optimistic, stating,

“He’s doing well. If you look at his career, it’s an impressive one, and there’s much more to come from him. He must overcome these challenges by delivering outstanding performances.”
