Former governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has been welcomed to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) by governors elected on the platform.

Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, was received into the party on Thursday by Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, and  four other governors at the home of Mimiko, in Ondo, the headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The other governors in attendance were: Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and the Abia State Governor, Ikezie Ikpeasu.

Mimiko, had left PDP before the 2019 general elections for the Zenith Life Party(ZLP) to which he is the National leader.

Mimiko’s return to the party had caused a lot of political rumples in the state for the past three weeks, mainly a threat by a PDP chieftain, Bode Obanla, who said he would challenge his deflection in court.

The four governors and other PDP stalwarts in the state are currently in an indoor meeting with the former governor, as his supporters are awaiting Mimiko to formally declare his return to PDP.
