In anticipation of the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has made a significant move by offering John Akinmurele, a former student leader, a free nomination form.

This development challenges the stronghold of established parties like PDP, APC, and LP in the state’s political landscape.

The event, held at the YPP headquarters in Abuja, saw Akinmurele, a former President of the Students Union Government at Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba Akoko, Ondo state, receive both Nomination and Expression of Interest forms without any charge.

William Moses, the party’s National Organising Secretary, emphasized the decision to provide the platform for free, citing Akinmurele’s integrity, leadership qualities, and commitment to effecting positive change.

This move comes amidst the backdrop of an expected tough political contest in Ondo State, where established parties traditionally dominate.

Akinmurele’s candidacy signals a departure from the norm, offering voters a fresh alternative. His campaign motto, “Iya yi to” (enough of this suffering), resonates with citizens eager for change in governance, poverty alleviation, and infrastructure development.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Akinmurele acknowledged the challenge ahead and pledged to justify the confidence placed in him.

With the Ondo State Governorship race expected to be fiercely contested, Akinmurele’s emergence as a youth candidate marks a new era in politics, challenging traditional norms and offering hope for a brighter future.

As he prepares to lead Ondo State with boldness and vision, Akinmurele’s candidacy represents a paradigm shift in leadership, symbolizing the growing influence of youth-driven politics in the state.

The YPP’s decision to offer him a free nomination form underscores their commitment to fostering inclusive and progressive governance in Ondo State.
