SSANU, NASU declared 7 days warning strike

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) have declared a 7-day warning strike.

Following the nationwide strike in 2022, the unions have announced a strike to press for the payment of four months of overdue salaries for their members.

Following a meeting in Akure over the weekend, the decision was made by the joint action committee of the two unions.

A week later, following warnings from the unions about possible disruptions to industrial peace in Nigerian universities.

The unions highlighted what they perceive as unfair treatment and raised doubts about the government’s reasoning for the specific payment.
