Soldier and dispatch rider crushed to death while rescuing accident victim in Abuja
A soldier and a dispatch rider were reported to have been crushed to their death while attempting to rescue an accident victim.
As reported by Daily Trust, one of the deceased who happened to be a military man along with a courier rider was making efforts to assist an accident victim when they were crushed to death by a truck, while leaving four others injured in Dei-Dei area of Abuja.
Sadiq Usman, an eyewitness of the incident told the publication that the first incident involved a commercial motorcyclist and his female passenger.
He said;
The bike man escaped from the accident but his passenger was not so lucky as she fell off the bike.
“The military man who was in a commercial vehicle along with some passengers rushed to rescue the victim. The courier rider also parked his bike to rescue the victim.
“They were in the process of removing the victim when a speedy articulated truck ran over them.’’
Confirming the incident, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in charge of Zuba, Elizabeth Benedict added that four other persons sustained injuries.
