Sokoto Governor Visits Communities Attacked by Bandits, Assures Restoration of Law and Order
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, along with his deputy, Idris Gobir, heads of security agencies, and the Sultan of Sokoto, paid a visit to the three communities that were recently attacked by bandits.
The visit took place on Tuesday, following the attacks that occurred last Saturday.
During the visit, Governor Ahmed Aliyu expressed his condemnation of the senseless and ungodly attacks, assuring the affected residents that his government is committed to restoring law and order in areas affected by banditry.
He urged the residents to report any suspected informants within their communities and to cooperate fully with the deployed security operatives.
In a show of support, Governor Aliyu donated cash and grains to the families of those who lost their lives in the attacks, as well as to those who suffered property losses.
He assured the affected communities that his administration would cover the medical expenses of those injured during the attacks.
According to TopNaija, the attacks in Tangaza local government area resulted in the tragic loss of over 30 lives.
Additionally, the attackers set fire to houses and vehicles in the communities due to their refusal to pay levies imposed on them.
Accompanying Governor Aliyu on the visit was the former governor of the state and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto, Aliyu Wamakko.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, also joined the delegation, along with other traditional rulers.
