Simon Jordan On Gerrard, Lampard Taking Over Palace

Simon Jordan, the former owner of Crystal Palace, has warned the club against hiring Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard as their next manager.

The club recently sacked Patrick Vieira after his lack of victory in 12 games. Lampard and Gerrard were both sacked from their management jobs at Aston Villa and Everton respectively and have been without jobs since.

Jordan advised the club to use the upcoming international break to search for a better manager, instead of making another unfavourable decision. He also criticised the idea of hiring either Lampard or Gerrard, stating that they were both disasters at their previous clubs. Lampard was previously interviewed by Crystal Palace a few years ago but was not selected for the role.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said,

“If you start veering into the territory of people like Gerrard and Lampard, well, Lampard was interviewed by Palace a couple of years ago and they didn’t want him then. What’s changed? He would have got Everton relegated, he was a disaster there towards the end, and Gerrard was a disaster at Aston Villa. Why would either of those guys be a fix?”

Crystal Palace have yet to announce their next manager, but with the international break approaching, they have some time to find the right candidate for the job.
