Sell Luis Diaz -- Former West Ham star tells Liverpool

Former West Ham United and Celtic striker, Frank McAvennie, has raised eyebrows in the footballing world by advising Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to consider selling striker Luis Diaz during the current summer transfer window.

The seasoned Colombian forward has reportedly attracted interest from Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, with an offer of £43 million being tabled by the Arabian club, as reported by Record.

Frank McAvennie’s recommendation to offload Diaz comes with a caveat – he believes that Liverpool should only consider parting ways with the player if they receive a significantly higher offer of £60 million.

According to the football pundit, this substantial sum could be better utilized by Jurgen Klopp to secure the services of a more promising and consistent talent for the Reds.

Speaking to Empire of the Kop, McAvennie expressed his thoughts on the potential transfer, stating,

“If they can get £60 million for him, I would take it because I think Jurgen can find a better player for that. I think he has got skill, but he was running like a headless chicken sometimes last year. I do not think Jurgen has got time for that. I think he would like it over there…”

Luis Diaz’s time at Liverpool has been a mix of impressive performances and moments of inconsistency.

While the Colombian international has showcased glimpses of his talent and flair, there have been instances where he seemed to struggle with maintaining consistency and discipline on the field.

With Al-Hilal’s substantial offer on the table, Liverpool’s management now faces a significant decision regarding Diaz’s future at Anfield. Klopp must weigh the potential benefits of cashing in on the attacker to strengthen other areas of the squad against the possibility of nurturing Diaz’s talent and helping him reach his full potential.

The interest from Al-Hilal has further intensified the speculation surrounding Diaz’s future, and the transfer saga is likely to attract attention from fans and pundits alike.

Should Liverpool decide to accept the £43 million offer from Al-Hilal, it could potentially free up funds for Klopp to pursue other transfer targets that could bolster the squad and address any areas of concern.

The coming weeks will undoubtedly be crucial for Liverpool as they assess the situation and determine the best course of action regarding Luis Diaz.

With the summer transfer window still open, the club has ample time to evaluate their options and make a decision that aligns with their long-term objectives and ambitions for the upcoming season.
