Rivers TV and Radio Stations Hit by Explosions and Gunfire

Gunmen launched an attack on Tuesday night at two popular media outlets, Wish FM 99.5 and the Atlantic Television Network, in Ozuoba, Rivers State, using explosive devices and gunfire.

The incident, which occurred around 8:40pm, resulted in the destruction of equipment and property in the facility that houses the media outlets.

The owner of the media outfit, Chinyere Igwe, who is also a member of the House of Representatives and an avid supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, confirmed the incident but expressed relief that no one was hurt.

The police spokesperson for the state, Grace Iringe-Koko, said she had not received the report of the incident but promised to provide feedback after consulting with the Divisional Police Officer.
