Real Madrid to encounter real problem ahead of Man City clash

Former Liverpool star, Don Hutchison, has highlighted the potential impact of an injury to Luka Modric on Real Madrid and their Champions League chances against Man City.

The Croatian midfielder picked up a thigh injury and is now a major doubt for the semi-final tie. Hutchison has warned that Real Madrid could struggle against a high-flying Man City side if Modric fails to recover in time.

In an interview with Republic World, Hutchison said, “That will be a massive loss if Luka Modric is missing out. I don’t think Real Madrid is the same when he doesn’t play. It’s a big problem for Ancelotti.”

Although Real Madrid has other top midfielders in their squad such as Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga, Hutchison believes that the understanding and relationships that exist between Modric and Benzema is second to none.

Real Madrid will face Man City on May 9th in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. The English side will be looking to avenge their defeat to the English champions at the same stage of the competition in the 2021/22 season.
