Pastor Adeboye seeks research into success stories of mega churches
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Monday, emphasised the need to investigate the reasons behind the success stories of mega churches in certain parts of the world.
Adeboye disclosed that mega churches in the Global South had continued to grow immensely in the competitive worldwide religious setting in the last 30 years.
The prominent cleric made this known at a three-day global conference on mega churches outbreak in the Global South coordinated by RCCG in partnership with the John Templeton Foundation, United States.
Pastor Adeboye spoke on the theme of the conference, ‘Imaging Mega Churches In The Global South and Beyond: Trends, Trajectories and Impact’, which took place at the Redemption Camp, Ogun State.
The conference was attended by representatives of nations from Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Asia Pacific, which are referred to as the Global South.
Adeboye was represented by the RCCG Intercontinental Overseer in the African Region, Pastor Johnson Odesola.
The cleric added that mega churches in the Global South had continued to spread their religious borders to the Global North, which include Europe and North America.
RCCG General Overseer depicted the growth of mega churches as “a global phenomenon.”
