Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has recently led Vice-President-Elect Kashim Shettima on an enlightening tour around his department within the Presidential Villa in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.

This event was carried out with the intent of familiarizing Shettima with the surroundings and operations he will soon undertake.

Following this tour, Shettima engaged with State House correspondents, explaining that the meeting served as a platform for idea exchange on national development. Shettima expressed high aspirations for the incoming administration. He, along with President-Elect Bola Tinubu, intend to begin their tenure with momentum and efficacy, ensuring the immediate positive impact of their leadership on Nigerian citizens.

This encounter comes on the heels of President Muhammadu Buhari’s conferral of National Honours on Tinubu and Shettima on Thursday. The President-Elect and Vice President-Elect were awarded the prestigious Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) and Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) respectively, signifying their esteemed roles in the nation’s governance.

In a symbolic gesture of transition, Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who also serves as Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council, presented the transition documents to Tinubu and Shettima. This significant handover occurs just days before their inauguration on May 29, marking the beginning of their anticipated tenure.
