Ondo APC Governorship aspirant Paul Akintelure is dead

The political landscape of Ondo State mourns the loss of one of its prominent figures as Paul Akintelure, a key gubernatorial hopeful of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has tragically passed away.

Akintelure’s demise comes amidst concerns he had raised regarding threats to his life, both direct and indirect.

Expressing his initial hopes for a resolution to the situation, Paul Akintelure, until his untimely death, had remained steadfast in his determination to see justice prevail.

“The threats against me only strengthen my resolve to stand up for what is right and just. I will not allow fear to dictate our path forward,” he remarked.

Paul Akintelure, a medical doctor hailing from Igbotako in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, had been actively involved in the state’s political arena.

He notably ran as the deputy governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) alongside Rotimi Akeredolu in a previous election against Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party, who emerged victorious.

Despite facing defeat in earlier electoral bids, including a senatorial contest against the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Akintelure remained committed to his political pursuits.

His passing comes at a crucial juncture as preparations for the Ondo governorship election intensify.
