Michelle Alozie, 10 other Super Falcons turn up for qualifiers

Michelle Alozie, and 10 other Super Falcons stars answer the call of duty as they are first to turn up in camp for the Olympic qualifiers.

The quest for the 2024 Women’s Olympics tournament in Paris kicks into gear as the preliminary qualifiers are set to factor into play for Nigeria’s Super Falcons team and ahead of the double legged fixture versus Cameroon, Michelle Alozie and 10 other teammates are first to turn up in camp.

The camp, which officially opened its doors on Tuesday morning, witnessed the early arrival of notable players, including goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, Linda Jiwaku, and Akudo Ogbonna.

Joining them and Michelle Alozie are Rasheedat Ajibade, Tosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Abiodun Deborah, Ifeoma Onumonu, and Gift Monday.

While these 11 players have set the tone for the rigorous training sessions ahead, anticipation mounts as 10 more players are expected to bolster the squad in the coming days, further strengthening the Falcons’ resolve for victory.

Adding to the buzz, Head Coach Randy Waldrum has also made his presence felt, jetting in from the United States of America to oversee the team’s preparations firsthand.

The stage is set for an intense showdown as Cameroon prepares to host the first leg of the encounter at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala this Friday.

With the Falcons gearing up to defend their turf, the reverse fixture is slated to take place next week Monday at the iconic Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
